Summer Outdoors Day Camps

🌲 Explorers Summer Camps
Our Explorers Camps for grades 2–5 offer full days of outdoor adventure, hands-on skill-building, creative projects, and imaginative play in the forest. Each week is designed to challenge growing independence, encourage teamwork, and spark curiosity through exploration, making, games, and real-world outdoor skills. Campers build confidence, resilience, and friendships as they spend their days immersed in nature.
Camp Schedule
-

-
Drop off beginning at 8:30 AM
All camps are led by experienced educators who are carefully selected, background-checked, and trained to support children in this age group. Our team creates a safe, supportive, and engaging outdoor environment where campers are encouraged to take healthy risks, try new skills, and grow their confidence through adventure and play.
Adventure. Play. Nature.
Equitable Access and Our Sliding Scale
At WildRoots, we are committed to making our summer camps accessible to families from all financial backgrounds. To support this commitment, we offer a Sliding Scale Model that allows families to select a rate that aligns with their financial circumstances. This model fosters equity, inclusion, and community support, ensuring every child has the opportunity to experience the joy and learning of nature-based camps.
Standard Rate
-
Pre-K Full Day: $575/week
-
Pre-K Half Day: $450/week
-
K–1 Camps: $550/week
How the Sliding Scale Works
Our sliding scale offers five tuition levels:
-
Pay It Forward: Help support another camper by choosing this rate, which exceeds the true cost of camp.
-
Standard Rate: Reflects the full cost of running our programs and the option most families select.
-
Discounted Rate (-$75): Provides a moderate discount for families needing some financial support.
-
Supported Rate (-$150): Offers significant financial assistance for families facing challenges.
-
Community Rate (-$250): A deeply discounted rate for families with substantial financial hardships.
🌱 Sliding Scale Income Guide
(Household income before taxes)
This chart is meant to be a reference point, not a requirement. We trust families to choose the rate that best reflects their current financial reality. Household income does not always reflect access to wealth, stability, or outside financial support.
-
Level D → Standard Rate (100%) or Pay it Forward
-
Level C → Discounted Rate ($75 off)
-
Level B → Supported Rate ($150 off)
-
Levels A → Community Rate ($250 off)
When selecting your tuition level, we trust that families will reflect honestly on their financial ability and choose the rate that best fits their situation.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We strive to create a safe and equitable space for all children and staff to be able to be their best selves. We define equity as the opportunity for every individual to have the ability to reach their full potential. Our definition of equity encompasses race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, nation of origin, ability and alterability/disability, neuro-divergence, language, experiences, education, socioeconomic status, social/emotional or developmental experience, and physical appearance. We welcome and strive to provide a warm, nurturing environment for all. If your child needs extra support to feel welcome, safe, and supported, please contact us so that we can work together to create the most supportive, nurturing, and fun experience for your child. Because of the wide variety of terrain at each site, students with physical limitations should contact us prior to registration so that we can make sure we will be able to serve your child’s needs.
Nature Camp Potty Protocols
Our Nature Camps are held at lovely, wild, outdoor sites. We have portable restrooms for our bathroom facilities. Occasionally, when we are far away from the portable restroom, we will allow nature-potties that are off trails, away from play places, and provide privacy. If we are fairly close to the portables though, your child will need to use the portable restroom.
The littlest campers, ages 3-5, have their own little-kid friendly pop-up portable restroom that has a step stool with handles and a potty insert to make it just their size and easy for little ones to be potty independent.
All children must meet certain bathroom-readiness requirements in order to attend camp. The following things are required for all kids at all camps:
-
Your child should recognize the need to go before they go in their clothes. Your child should be communicating this need verbally or physically in a way that is recognizable.
-
Your child should be able to enter a bathroom by themselves, take off their garments, get up on the toilet, wipe entirely by themselves, then put their garments back on.
-
Your child should be able to wash their hands independently!
-
No diapers or pull-ups allowed at camp. Speak to the program director if your child has health or dietary restrictions that make bathroom-readiness more difficult.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
These policies are here to allow us adequate time to contact families with campers on the waiting list and make informed decisions regarding weekly supplies and camp staff schedules.
-
If you cancel 31 days or more prior to the first day of camp, 75% of the camp fee will be refunded.
-
If you cancel 14-30 days prior to the first day of camp, 50% of the camp fee will be refunded.
-
Cancellations made less than 14 days from the first day of camp cannot be refunded.
-
If you are on a payment plan and need to cancel, the above statements still apply and you will be responsible for the appropriate percentage of the camp fee per your predetermined payment schedule.
-
Registrations and fees are non-transferable.
-
Camp Change Requests must be received in writing at least 14 days prior to the camp's start date. All changes are subject to availability.
We reserve the right to cancel for a period of time if the administration believes that it is necessary for the safety of the children or adherence to law. Examples of reasons for closures include, but are not limited to: extreme and inclement weather, and national and local disasters and/or emergencies. These are considered circumstances beyond our control and no reimbursement will be given for fees paid for that time. As an entirely outdoor summer camp, WildRoots summer camp may be more affected by extreme weather than other camps with access to indoor spaces.
