Spring Foraging Workshop
After a long Winter’s rest, often the first plants to return are wild weeds. What we refer to as ‘weeds,’ actually play a crucial role in nature by contributing to the regeneration of the soil following a cold, dormant season. These common medicinal plants, who are frequently overlooked or recognized as a nuisance, are also powerful health allies for ourselves as we awaken into Spring.
Packed full of vitamins and minerals, many Spring weeds provide actions that help our bodies detox, reduce inflammation and enhance energy through an increasingly active season.

Guests will join a guided plant walk, learning about the medicinal actions of each plant while gaining confidence to identify, harvest and prepare various culinary and medicinal recipes. After foraging wild plants from the garden, together we will blend a nutrient dense superfood pesto.

Celebrate the return of Spring and honor the abundance of edible wild food and medicine just outside our doors!

Eco Printing & Indigo Dyeing Workshop
Celebrate the blossoming of Spring through the art of botanical dyeing, where plants become both inspiration and pigment. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore eco printing — a technique that transfers the natural shapes and colors of leaves and flowers directly onto fabric.

Using seasonal plant materials gathered from the garden, guests will learn how to thoughtfully arrange botanicals, bundle fabric, and use steam to release the pigments and patterns hidden within the plants. Each bundle reveals a one-of-a-kind print shaped by the natural forms of the plants themselves.
By popular request, we are also offering Indigo dyeing once again. Participants will learn the traditional Japanese resist-dye technique known as Shibori, where folding, binding, and clamping fabric creates beautiful geometric and organic patterns. Watching the fabric transform from green to deep indigo blue as it meets the air is a truly magical experience.
Come welcome the vibrant energy of Spring while creating beautiful botanical textiles and learning natural dye techniques that have been practiced for generations.

Blooming B-street Learning Commons (formerly B-street Farm) has served many functions over the years & continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many in our community. Years ago, it was the first home to the Forest Grove Community School (FGCS) while their current building was being finished. B-street was also the jumping off place for the Adelante Mujeres Agricultura Program. Countless students from Pacific University have gained hands-on experience in regenerative gardening, nature-based education, sustainable design, green and natural building, animal husbandry, bee keeping, & so much more. Students & teachers from FGCS, the Community Alternative Learning Center (CALC), Tom McCall's Roots & Shoots Club, and across the Forest Grove School District have enjoyed the many opportunities for field trips that provide real world applications of their school curriculum. B-street has hosted the Permaculture Convergence, sustainable living workshops, served as a gathering space for cyclists traveling across the state, as well as been a destination for many in the community to come & enjoy beautiful gardens. B-street has been, & continues to be, an invaluable resource in our community.
